About us

Ultramax USA is a small direct-to-consumer outfit built around one idea: footwear and layers should get out of the way of the person wearing them.

We started with a single complaint. Technical gear had become heavy, over-structured and over-priced, and the shoes marketed for "support" were the ones leaving people with sore feet at the end of a working day. So we went the other way — wide toe boxes, flat platforms, thin flexible outsoles, shells that pack into their own pocket, and fabrics chosen for weight and drying time rather than for a logo.

What we actually do

Ultramax USA is a retailer, not a factory. We select, test and sell — we do not manufacture. Our range is produced by specialist manufacturing partners in Asia who build barefoot-style footwear and technical outerwear at volume, and we buy from them under our own specification and our own name. We are deliberate about saying this plainly, because a shopper deserves to know who they are buying from and where a product comes from before they spend anything. How we sell

This site is a catalogue with a request-based order desk. You build a cart, you send it to us, and a person reads it. We come back to you with what is in stock, what the total comes to with shipping and any import charges, and how long it will take. Only then does payment come up, and it happens through a secure payment link — never through a form on this site.

It is slower than a one-click checkout. It also means nobody is charged for something that turns out to be out of stock, and nobody is surprised by a delivered-duty bill they were not told about. That trade is one we are happy to make.

What we will not do

• We do not publish review counts, ratings or customer numbers we cannot evidence.
• We do not advertise a discount we are not prepared to honour on the invoice.
• We do not make medical claims. Barefoot-style footwear suits a lot of people and does not suit everyone; if you have a diagnosed foot condition, talk to a clinician before changing what you walk in.
• We do not collect payment details on this website, and we will never ask for them by email.
